With the 2024 edition, the Workshop reaches 10 editions, a significant milestone for an event that has been dealing since 2015 with topics where research and applications are constantly evolving.
For this reason, the call for the 10th edition aims to activate the reflections, of researchers and scholars, on what may be the developments for the future of topics related to BIM and 3D modeling, given the development of topics such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and IoT.
Workshop topics are Digitalization and data acquisition, Digital Twin, Photogrammetry & image-based modeling, 3D scanning & digitization (laser, structured light, motion capture, etc.), Computer Graphics, 3D modeling (CAD-based and reality-based), Real + virtual worlds (mixed/augmented reality), AI, Machine Learning, Virtualization of other senses (touch, taste, smell, sound).
The Workshop is organized, for the scientific coordination aspect, by the Department of History, Design and Restoration of Architecture of Sapienza University of Rome, the Faculty of Architecture and the Master in HBIM of Sapienza University of Rome.

November 17th 2023 – Opening call for long abstract;
February 20th 2024 February 29th 2024 – Long Abstracts deadline;
March 15th 2024 – Notification of acceptance and author’s registrations openings;
April 5th 2024 – Free registration opening for professionals, students, researchers and auditors.
10th April 2024 – Closing of registrations;
April 11th-12th 2024 – Workshop 3D Modeling & BIM
May 31st 2024 – Deadline for full paper submission.
Submission_
The official languages of the conference are Italian and English.
The call for long abstracts addressed to scholars is open from November 17th 2023 to February 20th 2024, with the submission of a contribution in Italian or English.
Acceptance of long abstracts, which will be subject to double blind review, will be announced on March 15th 2024.
After acceptance, authors will be requested to submit the long paper (ca. 15,000 characters), italian and english, for publication by May 31st 2024.
Long abstracts, in .pdf format, should be composed as follows:
- title
- abstract 300 characters including spaces
- keywords (max 5)
- text (max 5000 characters including spaces)
- 1 or 2 images
The file must not contain the author’s name or any other information that would allow the author to be identified. The delivery file must be named according to the following syntax: “Surname_abstract”.
The file must be uploaded by clicking on the “Abstract Submission” button below.
Full papers should be composed as follows:
- title (max 80 characters)
- authors/authors
- authors/authors affiliation and email
- abstract 500 characters including spaces
- keywords (max 5)
- text (max 15000 characters including spaces)
- max 8 images (300 dpi, minimum width 1920px)
The submission email must have attached a compressed folder containing:
- a file in text format (.doc or .docx) complete with images and captions, in both languages, saved under the name: Surname_Name_WS24;
- a .pdf file of the contribution complete with images and captions and without references that could make the authors recognisable, saved under the name: Surname_Name_WS24;
- the images in .jpeg format, saved as: Surname_figXX.jpg.
The folder must be named surname_name of the corresponding author and uploaded by clicking on the “Paper Submission” button.
Accepted papers will be published in a volume with ISBN.

Subscription_
The author’s registration fee (1 fee per contribution) is € 180.00.
The deadline for registration and payment in order to publish your contribution in the volume 3D Modeling & BIM 2024 is April 10th 2024.
Instructions for payment and registration will be provided to the authors by email.
